Gotobeat is excited to team up with Sunderground Events to welcome back Best Athens Beats at 93 Feet East (Brick Lane) on Friday, 10th November.

Greece is well-known for several things, like the sun, the islands, the food, and… the parties! We are bringing the unconventional sound of Greece to central London with some of the greatest Greek electronic DJs and live performers.

Expect more than you would imagine in one single night.

Maria Papidaki from Athans’ Best 92.6 radio station will be spinning the decks again after several sold-out shows in London with her well-known house and techno vibes.

Pritanis, known from the legendary rap trio Imiskoubria, will be surprising you with a house-music-centered set, which is to be enjoyed for the first time in London!

The hip-hop master Stereo Mike will be showcasing his new project KATALH3H (Beats Deluxe), combining it all together, the powerful underlying beats, boom Bap, Trip Hop, lo-fi Electronica and industrial angst.

Theanò will be opening the night with their series of psychedelic folk middle-eastern fused tracks.

Sounds like an experimental, yet somehow familiar music journey, right?

To spice things up even more, our Greek house-party king of London, Larry, will be opening a second room of surprises, for those who actually would like to listen to some Greek cult music, and some of our guests could turn up for an encore there too, who knows!?!

MARIA PAPIDAKI – Maria Papidaki is one of Greece’s favourite radio producers, DJs and vocalists, when in comes to electronic music. She has been part of the legendary Best Radio 92.6 Athens since its conception and has therefore played a pivotal role in supporting and promoting genuine artists to a much wider audience. Maria Papidaki has performed several times in London with multiple sold-out shows in renowned venues like Folklore and Alleycat.

PRITANIS – Recognised as a member of the “all time classic” group Imiskoubria, Pritanis is a monumental figure of the Greek modern rap scene. At the moment, he is bringing his incomparable knowledge of hip hop beats on the disc turners and is hyping up parties in his personal style as a DJ.

STEREO MIKE – is an award-winning rap artist (1st MTV Best Greek Act winner), who also holds a doctorate in hip-hop musicology. He has been nominated for multiple VMAs and an MTV Europe Music Award. Mike’s self-produced album, Xli3h, has been included in the 30 Best Greek hip-hop albums of all time and he is the first Greek artist to ever perform at SXSW festival. Mike’s studio career began as a sound engineer at Vault Recording Studios in London, where he worked with pioneering British hip-hop acts, including Klashnekoff, Bury Crew, Skinnyman and Taskforce. Under his Stereo Mike alias, he’s produced three critically-acclaimed solo albums, and numerous singles for international artists on labels such as EMI, Sony, Universal and Warner Music. Stereo Mike’s latest release, a dual undertaking consisting of album KATALH3H (Beats Deluxe) and book Reimagining Sample-based Hip Hop: Making Records within Records, combines his passions into a large piece of work, pursuing Hip Hop’s sample-based aesthetic beyond licensing ultimate, and offering the worldwide beat-making community a blueprint for creative freedom alongside hours of relentless beats.

THEANO – Germinated in the soils of Greece and Georgia, theanò’s deep connection to her roots is one that has unmistakably shaped her sound. Her quest for truth has guided her sound into what it is today – a unique blend of folk rock with psychedelic and Middle Eastern influences, traversing the lands of her ancestors. She flaunts her soulful voice over colorful ethereal arrangements, with mesmerizing melodies and thought-provoking lyrics drawing inspiration from nature, stories of everyday life, spirituality and her bucolic upbringing.

LARRY– Well-known for his loud DJ sets around London, but also his secret location gatherings, Larry is considered by many the guru of parties. You can never know what will happen with him but you don’t really need to. Just enjoy the ride.
