Women Connect is a grassroots collective dedicated to building safer, more inclusive spaces for women, transgender, and non-binary individuals across the entertainment and creative industries. Born from a passion for equity and a need for tangible change, we exist to uplift underrepresented voices and foster meaningful opportunities for growth, collaboration, and community.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to increase parity, empower through access, and champion the careers and well-being of our community. Through impactful programming, advocacy, and resource-sharing, we support individuals at all stages of their journey – whether breaking into the industry or breaking barriers within it.
Over the years, we’ve hosted bold, forward-thinking events and initiatives, from panel discussions on reproductive health in the workplace and mental health in the creative industry, to hands-on courses like our live music business programme with Lewisham Music. We’ve celebrated creative excellence with events such as Visual Vanguards at Soho House and elevated urgent conversations through partnerships around domestic violence awareness, period poverty, and Black History Month.
We’ve featured trailblazing guests including directors, musicians, wellness experts, tech founders, and cultural leaders – each one offering lived experience and practical tools for navigating the creative world.
At our core is community. We run an open-access WhatsApp network and Google Group where members share resources, jobs, events, and peer support. Whether attending an in-person workshop or joining an online panel, Women Connect is a home for connection, courage, and career development.
We are committed to making the industry a place where everyone can thrive. Join the movement. Share the vision. Build the future.
