FIONA BEVAN & THE VAMPONS The sweet, fiery warblings of Suffolk singer-songwriter Fiona Bevan have been compared to Erykah Badu, Joni Mitchell and Marc Bolan. Her band simmer and shimmer, her folk songs are inflected with jazz, and her award-winning lyrics pry into the dark corners of love, with a cast of stumbling party-girls, fickle sailors and forlorn lovers sleeping out in trees. Fiona Bevan has been steadily flouncing her blonde afro round gigs in London / Brighton / Manchester / Zurich / Berlin / Glastonbury. She recently faced the judges on Channel 4's "Orange Unsigned Act" with trembling knees and a cheeky grin, and won over Blur's Alex James with her melodies and guitaring
HEXICON started as a lo-fi voice/guitar/french horn combo in 2004 and got told they sounded like a junk shop Beach Boys. They expanded when Mike, Paul and Tom were joined by Andy and Greg, the rotating drummer tag-team and Giles who was a total bass-head. Before the rhythm section joined the other guys started making a record, playing all the parts themselves as Greg recorded and mixed. It's coming out on March 8th on Haircut Records. Hexicon recorded more songs at Soup Studios soon after. 'Narissa I Won't' and 'Sweet Things' were planned for release as a single, and they are waiting patiently. Hexicon have so far played on bills with some of their favourite people including James Yuill, Fireworks Night, Esiotrot, Darren Hayman, Fanfarlo and SFA. Rob Rotifer took them out on a tour of Austria in 2006 to play some shows alongside Fuzzman and himself.

LUCY ROSE
If you don't know PAUL MOSELY so far you have missed: A band called Moses, being accused of stealing from The Clangers, Radio 2 playlists, 6music sessions, being shushed and praised at the same time by Tom Robinson, the love of Jamie Oliver, a drink with Shane MacGowan, Another drink with Shane MacGowan, duetting with Sam Brown and her fine display of 'playing the piano with ones knockers', sharing a toilet with Muse at Glastonbury, singing in an Amsterdam brothel, another drink with Shane MacGowan, Oliver Postgate approvingly quoting Dee-Lite lyrics, the 'Graham Coxons favourite band' debacle, Jools Holland inviting himself backstage, potential Band names ranging from 'the lucky Bitches' to 'Troon Cronk & Monger (featuring paul mosley)', making 'Mistys Big Adventure' sound a bit like Thomas the tank engine, The Canadian Will & Grace on the dole, the BMG A&R man incident, a choir, Plakka getting good, a lap top show down, improvising on bassoons, flutes, a lot of incredible harp, losing a moth to Florence and the Machine, a small amount of sex, an abandoned attempt to write proper pop songs in Barcelona, monkeys, pigs, wolves and some astonishing music.
