GLIDE AND SWERVE'S cloud-gazing electronica is the perfect companion to 2009's summer adventures. Mining a similar path to Lemon Jelly, Ultramarine, and Zero 7, the duo's debut album, 'Bring Back Love', is a beautifully crafted long-player brimming with horizontal beats, pastoral melodies, and Balearic goodness. Glide & Swerve, began life in Hong Kong as a production outfit and promoters of the island's most infamous parties. In addition to the DJs they'd fly in, Glide & Swerve would perform live alongside several vocalists, occasional dance troops, musicians, and a video artist who would create live backdrops on a 40 foot canvas behind the band. If electro pop is the current sound of Saturday night Britain, then 'Bring Back Love' is the soundtrack to a Sunday afternoon spent in recovery. Forthcoming single, 'And I Smile', is one of the album's vocal tracks, and is currently being played by specialist radio shows including that of French whiz, Laurent Garnier.
THE STANDARDS have an admitted love for the classic pop song which is evident from their high energy power-pop. What I like about them is they take their influences and turn them into something modern sounding. Three self-produced songs isn't much to base an opinion on, but from what I can tell, the future is looking pretty bright for these lads. Losing Today magazine
DUFRAINE "Music with fangs and no concession to the many bandwagons that are passing through town. These songs show variety and a singular vision." BBC Radio Wales. "Reverb drenched mahem, there's reverb over the whole thing, its beautiful." BBC Radio Bristol.
SWEETCORN BREAD are several humble feet from hertfordshire who have been recording together since 2002. In 2006, they pieced together the collective material, and re-recorded some of the older tracks onto four demo albums, including a live session from elstree road. Whilst involved with other bands (The Expensive Habits, The Row, SSP, arabada and Toxins), Sweetcornbread remained solely as a jam with friends, and would turn up at local establishments to play for beer and a good time. It wasn't until 2008 that Sweetcornbread began playing their own original material as a three piece. With musicians revolving for each performance, changing the style and feel of each set, sweetcornbread became a band where anything is possible. This theme has continued making every gig have it's own unique performance, and has encouraged each member to learn to play more instruments. In 2010, Sweetcornbread are trying to book there way onto the summer festivals in the UK and possibly Europe.

KARMA JUNKIE This eclectic London-based electronic folk duo create a sound that is mesmeric, ambitious and instantly accessible. Formed of Dan Linn (Vocals, Guitar, Synth, Sampling) and Rose Pearl (Harp, Violin, Vocals) the group's sound is melodic, vast and abounding. In live performance they are dynamic - Dan meticulously sampling live vocals and guitars over electronic drums with Rose providing a sonic bed of intricate harp and violin lines. The interplay of all the numerous instrumentation within the music is captivating, resulting in songs that draw the listener in and don't let go. Karma Junkie creates beautifully arranged music with an immediacy in the lyrics that begs for immersion and contemplation. Don't miss out.
PETE ROE
MIKEY MOORE & THE MAGPIES are a Three piece Violin/Guitar/Drums band based in east London. The Magpies met on a beach in thailand and played their first gig there, Hopping to another Island was their second and now are playing around London and making a name. Im trying to write songs on a daily basis and building guitars the rest of the time whilst Freya is studying Music at Cambridge University. Our somewhat estranged drummer is currently learning the drums... Enjoy!
ANDY HARWOOD Singer, songwriter, guitar-player and piano hammerer, originally from the midlands of England, now residing in London...
