THURSDAY 4th MARCH
MAIN HALL: THE CHOIR WITH NO NAME PRESENTS:
JOHN HEGLEY WITH THE CHOIR WITH NO NAME
7:00PM - 11:00PM
The Choir with No Name, a choir founded in March 2008 for homeless men and women across the capital, is delighted to announce an evening of singalong craziness and comedy where they will be joined by top comic poet and musician John Hegley.
Marie Benton founded the Choir with No Name on the premise that singing is good for you; it helps to build confidence and ease your worries. Following a year in which the choir featured on Channel 4's 'The Secret Millionaire' and ITV's 'This Morning', they are putting on a gig with John Hegley at Brick Lane's 93 Feet East on Thursday 4th March.
Widely known as one of the country's most innovative comic poets with several best-selling volumes of poetry to his name, John Hegley is a regular sell-out at the Edinburgh Festival and also starts on BBC Radio 4's 'Hearing with Hegley'.
Adel Tuzani became homeless after his Father died, and joined the choir not long afterwards. He says:
'We're a quirky bunch, and always put on a really fun show. It feels like a perfect match to have John along to perform with us; we're really looking forward to it.'
