WEDNESDAY 3rd MARCH
MAIN HALL: 40 WATT CLUB PRESENTS:
CITY BOY SOUL + PARTY DARK + CLEMENT MARFO & THE FRONTLINE + KULEZ
7:30PM - 11:00PM
CITY BOY SOUL, aka Gak (pronounced Jack) Jonze and Corée Richards, hail from London, where they have been leading influences in the underground R&B scene for several years. Since his departure from the group Damage, Corée revisited his urban roots, writing and producing a catalogue of tracks and gigging internationally. Between tours, Corée was no stranger to the London club scene and it is here that he met Gak, a successful rapper in his own right.
PARTY DARK
CLEMENT MARFO & THE FRONTLINE is quickly proving to be one of the hottest new talents to hit the British scene. He has established himself as a truly experimental artist who is unique in his style of lyrical delivery. Clement makes choices of creativeness and innovative actions, encouraging him to be confident in his own original style. Clement's dynamic performing qualities as well as his unique style clearly stems from his wide range of musical influences, which span from both the US and UK. They range from the likes of Slick Rick, Wyclef Jean, Tina Turner, JAY Z, Daft Punk, and Kanye West to home grown talent such as Annie Lennox, Phil Collins, Craig David, Ms Dynamite, Ashley Walters, and Dizzee Rascal. As a result of his prominent creativity, Marfo's specialities lie in his song writing ability. From Hip Hop and Indie to Electro, Rock and Soul; such genres encourage him to broaden his lyrical context, allowing him to reach a wider audience, especially being raised within such a multi-cultural environment.
