THINK ABOUT LIFE is one of those bands that put on a great live show. They are so successful in their crowd-riling, dance-inciting ways that the last time we saw them, they even played an encore. Their latest album, Family, is a good combination of !!!-esque funk and jazz meets indie rock. Energetic, witty, and personable, their live show's are engaging, and we found out quickly that French-Canadians like to get down and boogie! Think About Life brings the party like no other band currently around and their show consists largely of party anthems from start to finish. Fans of Sunset Rubdown, The Unicorns, and Wolf Parade should go nuts for this.
The three members of WHISKEY & THE WILSONS met in Leeds in 2004 and started playing music to fill all the spare time they gained by avoiding lectures. They formed an instrumental group under the name Black Field and, during a gestation which lasted close to two years, demolished everything they had previously known about music. Currently moving up the gig circuit, with their finished E.P. due in the new year and material in place for an album, Whiskey & The Wilsons bring down hefty lyrical subjects such as nature, science and mortality, tie up their legs with groovy, elemental drums, stun them with piercing organs and bubbling electric piano, then smash them over the head with a vintage guitar.
