BAR OPENS AT 5PM
Not quite as American as americana, not quite as polite as traditional folk, YEAH SPARROW is evolving as the potential missing link between the current proliferation of US influenced singer-songwriters and the future of contemporary folk music on this side of the Atlantic. With regular appearances at top alternative London venues such as the Windmill and the Ritzy over the past year, as well as appearing on two stages at the Latitude festival, Yeah Sparrow are touring the UK in the coming year with a mixture of intimate solo shows from frontman Kevin Hadley, and full band performances that look set to be as playful and impassioned as their lyrics suggest. Think of a mongrel mix of Tom Waits, Elliot Smith and Broken Social Scene, with a falsetto vocal not unlike Thom Yorke, and you're somewhere close.
WOOLOO KELLY
COPPERS FOR KARMA are billed as 'A hot mouthful of upbeat driving funkbilly', and 'The London threesome you most want to be part of'. Their energy and standard of musicianship on stage is matched by their versatility as writers and the imagination of their arrangements, and their aftershow parties are truly the stuff of legend. So what are you waiting for? Get down to a show, grab a spot near the front and prepare your badass self for a deluge of aural pleasure guaranteed to raise a smile, swivel the hips and loosen the bra-strap.
RESIGNED are an east London based quartet formed in the late spring of 2007. A few months of rehearsing and feeling the restriction of studio life the band ventured forth into the dirty, sweaty arena of London's pub and club live music circuit. Two years on and the band have now played at most of London's established live music hotspots including The Water Rats, The Dublin Castle, The Hope & Anchor, The Buffalo Bar, The Bull & Gate and 93 Feet East plus a number of dates at other great venues in the city such as Lark in the Park, Comedy, The 12 Bar Club among others.

ACOUSTIC SESSIONS: MOONTHIEF + DAVE DIXON + BLANCHE VISARRO + THE A TRAIN

MOONTHIEF are much more than just a pretty face -- they write and play wicked songs too. Singer and nimble-fingered keyboardist Tali Febland has a voice that sends shivers down the spine and twins Frederick and Ralph Fuller -- on guitar and drums respectively -- adorned it with deft skills and overwhelming energy.
DAVE DIXON is a singer-songwriter hailing from weston-super-mare, now based in London. He's been writing songs since the supple tender age of 14. The recordings on the myspace were all recorded in his bedroom. O and check out his band 'Sly Paws'.
'BLANCHE VISARRO turned up in our Shadwell studios wearing an outfit which was part Dita Von Teese, part Snow Queen and included a fraught en bon pon and Mini Mouse shoes. Or rather, I should say, an electric piano so heavy that it took two men to carry it arrived with Blanch Vissaro struggling valiantly beneath it. Her music was bewitching; it's the first time in ages that I've genuinely felt music cast a spell. The studio was enraptured. Eli/Blanche was thoughtful, charming and an extraordinarily gifted musician from whose fingers flowed riff after riff of desperately attractive music. It was the sort of experience that validated the whole existence of the show for me'. N Wolf
THE A TRAIN "A gorgeous, heady piece of acoustic-based pop." Amped "Transports you somewhere deep into the fields of Avalon on some sun-drenched afternoon in late June. Don't Have Far To Go urges the listener onwards and upwards..." All Gigs / "Button pushing, anthemic country-pop. You will love it." Unpeeled
